essay 3 bais media

Mona kamal
If you looked at this picture of this little girl, could you say who she was or how she died? No, of course you would not be able to know who she was or how she died because the Israeli army does not want you to know so American news agencies did not release it to the media. She was Iman al-Hams, a 13 year-old Palestinian girl from the Gaza Strip, Palestine. She died walking to school. She was walking when an Israeli Defense Force soldier, known only as "Captain R", fired 20 rounds into her body (including five into her head) from an M-16 automatic assault rifle - an American weapon supplied by the American government to the Israeli military whom use it to kill Palestinians. There was no reason for shooting her other than she was walking down a street that was next to the bored fence of Gaza and Egypt (Molly Moore). Most Americans today will wake up watching CNN or Fox news and that’s their only source for what going on around the world and never think to question it. There are always two sides to a story and most of the time the news only shows one. American news limits what it releases to the public. They only show what they want Americans to see or know. The fact is, the media is very bias and that’s why people get the wrong impression of what the truth is. An example of extremely bias media and very limited to what people see is the media converge of the Palestine/Israel war.
The Israel military including weapons, tanks, warplanes, and artillery shells are all funded by the US tax payer. More then fifteen million US dollars is given by us taxpayers to Israel each day for their military use, the total founding is more than four billion US dollars per year. (Belphegor69) the American people were against the WW2 and the Holocaust shows us that the Nazis closed businesses, dehumanised, stole land, displaced communities, created ghettos, targeted civilian areas and murdered innocent men, women and children. The state of Israel now does this. Why for America it was not okay for Hitler to do those awful crimes but now America supports those same crimes that Israel is doing to Palestine (aljeezra.com)
Many people in America believe Palestinians are the terrorist and Israelis are the victims. The media always make it seem that in Middle East, it is always the Palestinians that attack first, and it's always Israel who defends itself. Palestine is not allowed to kill Israelis, this is called "terrorism" Israel has the right to kill Palestinians civilians; this is called "self-defense" very time an Israeli dies it’s on the it is mentioned in the New York times. (Philo, Greg) In 2004 an American organization that exposes and examines the facts of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict reported that 808 Palestinian conflict deaths occurred while 107 Israelis conflict deaths occurred. The study, however, found that The New York Times covered Israeli deaths in the headline or the first paragraph in 159 articles meaning in some cases they covered the same death numerous times. In contrast, The New York Times only covered about 40 percent of Palestinian deaths 334 of 80 in the headline or in the first paragraph of the articles. The New York Times is not only bias is also lying and the discovery was made by American organization (If Americans Knew) this study revealed that nearly eight Palestinians died for every one Israeli. Kanazi, Remi
Alison Weir is a journalist for If Americans Knew she went to Palestine and seen things that never been reported in the media like communities destroyed, children who had been shot in the stomach, in the back, in the head and so on .all these events have never been mentioned in the media and a suicide bombing had occurred and she went to a hotel in East Jerusalem and saw that the New York Times had published a front-page story about it. . (Weir, Alison)
In the media the pain Israeli people endure is shown endlessly. Israelis do suffer. Suicide bombings are horrific. Nevertheless, Palestinian pain occurs far more frequently, and yet often overlooked by the mainstream American media. When Israel kill palatines they always say their were planning suicide booming or they looked like terrorist but there are no Palestinian quote, no witnesses giving an alternative perspective. Kanazi, Remi. The media has portrayed suicide bombing as a terrorist attack this is not true, it is a fighting method the Palestinians don’t have tanks and missals to fight with the, best thing they got are rocks or homemade bomb they attach to themselves and they blow themselves up. Palestinians have no weapons let’s even say they had guns how is a person with a gun supposed to fairly fight against an army with apache helicopters and tanks? (Yaghi, Laila). Its also not random people that blow them selves up it people who have seen their daughters and sons head blown off or their entire family killed in one day they become depressed and want to be with their family because there nothing in this life for them left. A 80yera women in Gaza blew up herself because the Israeli army killed her four son who were on their rough after nine o’clock locking up the pigeons and the Israeli army shout and killed her four sons in one night. The old women told a friend “she was she was overwhelmed with grief after loosing four of her sons in one day and wanted to be with her sons and avenges their deaths”. (Sayadi magazine).
Media is also portraying that Palestinian kid are being trained to be terrorist another lye American news is claming. People that live in Palestine have so much pride for their land and kids at a young age grow up loving their land and since there always around violence their whole life young ones grow up knowing that they have to fight for their land. . Palestinians would much rather die as martyrs then murdered by Israelis. Young Palestinian has been around so much violence and tragedy they are egger to fight for their land and help their country in anyway. Whether is showing their pride by raisin the flag in front an army of thanks to or fight a strong and powerful army with rocks. This something no Americans can understand unless they see what young Palestinians see all the time, but the Americans will never see it because their source for the middle east is the New York times. (Levin, Kenneth.)
Many stories are going unreported and many lives are forgotten these cold and ruthless crimes need to stop. Right now there is no reason for Israel to stop because nobody has put pressure for Israeli army to stop murdering innocent civilians. Anytime the Israeli army is questioned for what they do they claim the person was a terrorist or looked like one. The 13 year old girl who was shout 20 time by Captian “R” said be behaved like a terrorist and said on the radio after he killed Iman “Whoever dares to move in the area, even if it's a 3-year- old -- you have to kill them”.(Moore, Molly).
So all this young kids were shot and killed because they looked like terrorist according to Israel. Israel had to defend themselves from her, so they did this to her

This child was not yet born when it was shot by an anonymous soldier for zionism.a baby that never got the chance to breath was killed because it was a terrorist

The New York Times published an article saying Palestine needs to recognize Israelis right to exist. Its articles like that the get the Americans to believe it is Palestine that keeps causing mass destruction and Israel fallows the rules; but nothing on the new York time ever stated that Palestinians being asked to "recognize" Israel has stubbornly refused to declare its own borders. So, territorially speaking, "Israel" is an open-ended concept. Are the Palestinians to recognize the Israel that ends at the lines proposed by the 1947 U.N. Partition Plan? Or the one that extends to the 1949 Armistice Line Or does Israel include the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which it has occupied in violation of international law for 40 years and which maps in its school textbooks show as part of "Israel"? For all Israel has done to Palestine why should the Palestinians recognize an Israel that refuses to accept international law, submit to U.N. resolutions or readmit the Palestinians wrongfully expelled from their homes in 1948 and barred from returning ever since. (Makdisi, Saree)
I believe if there was better media Israel would have reason to back off because their unimaginable crimes would be seen all over America because the Israeli kill and attack so often. People need do know what is really going between the Palestine/Israel war. The media are crucial. It presents a version of reality and it creates awareness of what's happening. Both Palestinians and Israelis understand how important the media is to win the “war of words”. A quotes from Efraim Inbar"Wars are won, not only on the battlefield, but also with words." (search.com) If Palestine had better media converge Americans would get upset with what the American government is supporting and Israel would slow down and their killing and less Palestinians would be fighting back because Israel has slowed down on their killing spree.
The American media claims to be “fair and Just” (fox) when it not even close to “being fair and just”. That why only one side of the Palestine / Israel war is being shown. While Palestinian suffering goes on unreported children like Iman al Hams, Ragheb Al-Masri( murdered while sitting in a taxi Israel sniper shot him) and many more remain dead and forgotten, and the American press remains biased and forgiven(Belphegor69). That’s why I had to the internet and databases to get my information on the truth. If the media is more accurate the government might change course and Israel would back off because when they look at a five year old who may be walking around after 9 o’clock they will think twice before pulling the tiger because they will know their ruthless crimes will be reported the next day.
Is both sides eventually stopped fighting they may learn to live next to each other in peace because heartless crime have stopped. Innocent men women and children would not be murdered. Communities would not be smashed to the ground and leave civilians homeless on the streets. Both sides need to be shown people should stand up against bias media, that is the only way thing are going to change.

Most Americans are unaware of the toll because it is not properly reported. In 2004, If Americans Knew—an American organization that exposes and examines the facts of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict reported that 808 Palestinian conflict deaths occurred while 107 Israelis conflict deaths occurred. The study, however, found that The New York Times covered Israeli deaths in the headline or the first paragraph in 159 articles—meaning in some cases they covered the same death numerous times. Un.org. questions on Palestine http://www.un.org/depts/dpa/ngo/history.html
Palestinians have a real grievance their homeland for over a thousand years was taken, without their consent and mostly by force, during the creation of the state of Israel. During the years of the Palestine Mandate, from 1922 to 1947, large-scale Jewish immigration from abroad, mainly from Eastern Europe took place, the numbers swelling in the 1930s with the notorious Nazi persecution of Jewish populations. Palestinian demands for independence and resistance to Jewish immigration led to a rebellion in 1937, followed by continuing terrorism and violence from both sides during and immediately after World War II. Great Britain tried to implement various formulas to bring independence to a land ravaged by violence. In 1947, Great Britain in frustration turned the problem over to the United Nations. The united nations split Palestine in two parts.

This author talk about the American news is a lye and biased. The focus on the Israelis who died is extreme and repetitive, while the focus on Palestinians killed is rarely mentioned if at all. She compares them to how the African Americans were treated in the USA a few decades ago. The blacks had barely any rights and even though they were born in the US, they still were treated as outsiders. Very time Israel kill they say they were Palestinian militants well in the Jenin invasion 500 women children and men were killed were they all Palestinian militants? She as mentions that lets even say most Palestinians had guns, how is a person with a gun supposed to fairly fight against an army with apache helicopters and tanks?
She strongly expresses her feeling on how she feels on biased media. she works with Aljazeerah this article is 5 years old and it also recommends other websites.

bias media research Palistine/Israel war

This paper is one of the hardest papers, actually is the hardest paper I have ever had to right not because I can’t find information but because I have never been so emotionality connected with a school paper. I am Palestinian so when I see Palestinian with there head blown off ( most of them children)and there houses destroyed, I cry it hurts me so much to know that what going on in Palestine and not very many people know because the media is biased. Two nights ago I read a paper on how 13 girl was shout 20 time when she was walking home from school. The website showed her pictures after what the Israelis did to her. I kept thinking about her, it hurt so bad to see her blood cover lifeless body like that I went to bed that night and cried my self to sleep.

Essay # 2

In America, having a dog as a pet is very common in a typical household. There are many different types of dogs so when it come to buying one it could be hard to choose one. The Pomeranian makes a great dog for any household for many different reasons. These dogs are loyal, smart, outgoing, playful, and have a good temperament. I personally owned a Pomeranian and he was a smart and loving dog. When he was around my little brother and sister, he was very gentle and never bit anyone.
The Pomeranian is small, fluffy dog that only weighs about 3-7 pounds and stands about ten inches tall. The Pomeranian is very beautiful and has a double coat which consists of a woolly undercoat and a long silky outer coat. The Pomeranian's coat gives the appearance of being difficult to care for, but it is actually really easy. A regular brushing will keep the coat in good condition. The dog comes in many colors including Orange, Sable, Cream, White, Red, Brown, and Black. (yahoo pets) The original Pomeranian came from Germany, and it was a lot bigger than the one today. They use to be sled dogs and weighed about 30 pounds. The small Pomeranians became popular because Queen Victoria’s love of smaller dogs is reputed to be one of the reasons why breeders decided to reduce the size of this dog through selective breeding. She was the first person to own one.( Lavoie, Lyne)
This dog is a great family dog and good with kids. It also likes to be around other people and receive lots of attention. When I would go to the back yard or have friends over, my Pomeranian was always around wanting to play. Pomeranians are also really good with the elderly, sometime old people are lonely and need something to occupy there time. The Pomeranian can fur fill their day with excitement and fun without much work. (Pomeranian Puppy) They are very easy to make happy and can be equally happy in a big or small yard as long as he is taken for small walks. They are very easy to take care of and because of the size, they don’t need much food. They will not ruin the furniture and take naps often. Pomeranians are very loyal and protective towards their owners. ( Lavoie, Lyne) This dog is very intelligent and can learn tricks and be trained very quickly. He is also very independent and is eager to please his master. (Dobbins, Lee) The Pomeranian is very courageous for his small size, the dog might not be able to protect you if a robber came in your house but it will be bark constantly to warn you something is wrong. (Pomeranian Puppy)
The Pomeranian is a very beautiful and very luxurious dog. This dog is often seen in dog shows. Some unique feature of the Pomeranian is its sharp, fox-like face that always looks like it is smiling. All of the Pomeranian breeds have very dark almond-shaped eyes. Many celebrities own Pomeranians because of their fun loving personality and their attachment to their owner. These celebrities sometimes dress their Pomeranians up in nice clothes and take them out on the town with them.( American Pomeranian)
The Pomeranian has some health issues like a dislocated patella, slipped stifle, eye problems, skin problems, heart problems and dental problems. As the dog gets older, a check-up at the veterinarian’s office could help prevent some health problems. Pomeranians have more medical problems than a lot of other breeds but if treated early, they can live long full lives. Pomeranians loose their teeth faster than most dogs so it better if they eat dry food and have there teeth checked . This dog does not shed so it must be groomed. most Pomeranians live to be about fifteen years old. (Dobbins, Lee)
Pomeranians are a gentle, fun-loving, loyal breed of dog. They are all high energy and excitable dogs. If you weigh the positives and the negatives, the positives of owning a Pomeranian far outweigh the negatives. With the proper training and care, you can have a relationship with your dog that will last years. This will be a positive relationship that is fulfilling and healthy. This breed of dog is also excellent in a family environment. With a mild temper, children can basically abuse the dog and there is no fear the dog will retaliate. Pomeranians are low maintenance and low cost dogs and are a positive influence in your life. Their high activity brings life out of people versus owning a dog that sleeps all day. The benefits of this breed is self evident.

Essay # 2 research on Pomeranians

I am having a little more difficulty with my second paper flow better. I have got I a lot of research but as I put it together I feel is starting to sound like an ad more then an evaluation. I am evaluating Pomeranian. I pick this topic be cause I use to have one and he was a great dog. Even though I owned a Pomeranian and thought I knew there was everything to know about them I surprise myself, from this research I have learned so much more about the breed.

essay # 1

My Ethos in the letter is when I say I come from the Middle East and I have been to the Middle East many times. I am familiar with they way the people think and the way the goverment is in power. My Logos is Iraq has only got worse since America has invaded. Iraq people are very hard headed and stubborn. My Pathos is the fact the so many people are dying in Iraq and children are dying too. Iraq is ruined and houses are destroyed. Bush’s idea of the Middle East is totally wrong, especially with Iraq. I wonder if Bush has any good people working for him that know anything about the Middle East. Unless you were born there or have parents with deep roots there, you can never understand the way of life in the Middle East. The Middle East is mostly made up of Muslims. Unless you understand the traditions and the religion, you can never understand the people that live there. Iraq is not going to change their ways, they are going to fight even more for there beliefs on how their country should be governed. The people in Iraq want the Americans to leave and as long as America is in Iraq, the people get angrier and more people will die. America invaded Iraq hoping to make it better, but it has only gotten worse and it’s going to keep getting worse until America leaves. The Iraqi people do not believe in the American way of life. They might want the freedom to make money, like is possible to do in America, but they would never like to live the Western lifestyle. Most Westerners believe that Middle East people are oppressed and forced to live a certain way of life when in fact, they love their simple way of life and the simple times. There is corruption in the government in Iraq. The same goes for every Middle East country. Show me where in the world that the ruler of a country doesn’t have a personal agenda and more wealth than sometimes the country is worth. Sadam was a bad person. He committed crimes that he should have had to pay for, and he did. If you ask the people of the neighboring countries what they thought of Sadam, they would tell you that although what he did was wrong and tragic, he controlled the people of Iraq just like they needed to be controlled. Once Iraq was “freed” from Sadam, the opposing religious groups began killing each other in an attempt to control the country. This never happened when Sadam was in power. If we examine the recent history of Iraq, when was the last time that there was mass killing like there is today. Even after a year, there is no end in sight. There is no stable government, army, police or political leaders. Where else in the world do you see the mass killing like in Iraq today? How was the removal of their president a good thing? Recently, Bush asked Congress for several hundred millions of dollars to help re-build Iraq. Wouldn’t this money have been better spent in this country on social issues that need to be addressed, like health care. Bush can tell the American people that we went to Iraq to get rid of a bad dictator. We really went to Iraq to free the oil the world wants but couldn’t have with the current embargoes against the then current leader. There have been other worse crimes against humanity in the world, but we didn’t invade these countries. The televisions in America don’t show what is really happening in Iraq. The coverage by CNN is pathetic and one sided. If you watch CNN throughout the day, you will see the same images shown all day. Watch an Arab television station and see what really happens in the country we invaded. There are very few homes for the people to live in and the ones that are standing are torn apart. There is not much running water and no sanitation services. The schools are closed. I have personally seen images of children walking to the store. The children are walking past dead bodies that are decaying but still lying in the street. There are too many to remove, no one to remove them, and no place to bury them. Before we praise Bush for what he has done, we need to examine what he has really done. Did he make a bad situation better or did he make it worse. If Bush wants to know what his actions mean to the American people, he should look at his approval rating in the news. It is the lowest of any president in the history of this country.

my letter

Arizona Republic
February 7 2007

In regards to Iraq I have to agree with mark van Schilfgaard column on January 19 Having come from the Middle East and having parents that came from the Middle East, I can tell you from personal experience that Bush’s idea of the Middle East is inaccurate. Bush would like to impose his Western views and Western traditions on countries that have been around longer than this country and have far greater reaching roots. What Bush doesn’t understand is that the Iraq is not a melting pot and not subject to changing traditions to fit the new cultural standards When it comes to Iraq, Bush’s advisors should have told him what every person from the Middle East all ready knows; the Iraqi people are the most stubborn and hard headed of any Middle East country and they would rather die than have a Western power tell them what to do. Bush went to Iraq hoping to make it better but he has basically ruined Iraq, everyday people are dying and children are freezing and starving to death because of the damage the war has done to the country the people have no house or food to eat. Sometimes we need to recognize that the ending we want is not always the ending we are going to get. Bush needs to cut his losses and walk away from a conflict that he will never resolve in his lifetime.
